Big Brothers Big Sisters is the largest and oldest mentoring organization in the nation. BBBS is dedicated to partnering vulnerable children with a safe and stable adult with which the child can spend quality time. BBBS offers both community-based programs, which involve spending 2 – 3 hours a few times a month spending time with their “little†– getting pizza, going to the museum, playing at the park or hanging out, as well as school-based programs in our area with Tulakes and Arbor Grove Elementary. Children in the program are less likely to do drugs, skip school and also have better relationships. BBBS believes their mission aligns well with that of the Chamber in giving back and supporting the community that we live and work in. BBBS is able to develop strong relationships through the Chamber to find big brothers and big sisters, as well as corporate partnerships to foster the community spirit.
