The 2010 Scholarship Recipients were recognized at the May 13, 2010 Excellence in Education Luncheon.

Angela Gudgel – Putnam City North High School

Angela will graduate from Putnam City North and has been accepted into the University of Oklahoma Master of Occupational Therapy Program due to her high school academic success. She volunteers and mentors regularly and is involved in National Honor Society, Family, Career & Community Leadership of America, Leadership Development Institute, and Cultural Awareness for Students & Teachers at PC North. Angela has attended many leadership and Christian camps, holds a part-time summer job and baby-sits during the school year.

Blair Hanebaum – Putnam City North High School

Upon graduation in May, Blair plans to attend Oklahoma State University where she will major in early childhood education. Blair enjoys working with people and has participated in and served as a leader in many activities at PC North including Student Council, DECA, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Latin Club. Blair has served as a watergirl for the Putnam City North football teams for 4 years. Blair also enjoys mentoring young students and serving her church and community in volunteer work and missions.

Melanie McNatt – Putnam City North High School

Melanie’s passion is teaching and upon her graduation from Putnam City North, she plans to attend the University of Oklahoma and major in mathematics education. She spends every morning of the weekday tutoring students. She has also served on Student Council, National Honor Society and as a mentor in the Panther Pals Program. Melanie is also active in Drama Club and has performed in many play and musical productions in high school. Melanie also served her church in student ministry through volunteer work, choir and mission trips.

Elizabeth Tran – Putnam City High School

Elizabeth will attend the University of Oklahoma where she will study psychology and hopes to be a psychiatrist. She is vice president of Asian Club and has organized the Asian Club banquet, as well as their club fundraiser to raise funds towards cancer research. Elizabeth is is also a member of the pom square, key club. Varsity volleyball  and varsity tennis. Elizabeth has volunteered for many of the district elementary schools, Feed the Children, the Oklahoma Blood Institute and Special Olympics.
