Join us as successful women entrepreneurs share their experiences, challenges and triumphs in small business! This is your opportunity to learn, ask questions, and connect with an inspirational and visionary woman entrepreneurs. This luncheon will feature Dr. Louise Thurman, CEO, IPS Research Company.

Dr. Louise Thurman is CEO and Medical Director of IPS Research Company in Oklahoma City. Dr. Thurman will share her experiences and challenges as a woman entrepreneur in a highly regulated industry with a unique business model. IPS Research Company is the largest psychiatric clinical trials company in Oklahoma and surrounding regions. Dr. Thurman is a board certified psychiatrist with over 15 years of research experience, is a faculty member of the University Of Oklahoma College Of Medicine, Great Plains Family Practice Residency Program, and the St. Anthony Undergraduate Medical Education Program.

Jeretta Horn Nord is a professor, an editor, an author, and an entrepreneur. Dr. Nord is the Founder and CEO of Entrepreneur Enterprises, LLC, and Founder and Editor of A Cup of Cappuccino for the Entrepreneur’s Spirit Volumes I, II, and the Women Entrepreneurs’ I Edition released in 2010. Jeretta is a professor in the department of Management Science and Information Systems in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University.  Dr. Nord founded the Oklahoma State University chapter of the Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization and conducts research in the areas of technology and entrepreneurship. Jeretta has had an entrepreneurial spirit since childhood and engaged in ventures in real estate, sales of nutritional supplements, developing and selling personalized birthday cards, and a twelve-year entrepreneurial venture as owner of a hair-and-nail salon.

Business Brown Bag Lunch
New Year, New Rules: Tax Information for 2011

Looking for free tax information for the coming year? Make plans to attend the Northwest Chamber’s first “Business Brown Bag Lunch”. This free luncheon will feature a relaxed discussion format with a panel of representatives from the Oklahoma Tax Commission (OTC), Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and a locally-based Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to answer your tax questions, both business-related and personal.

Please bring your own “brown bag” lunch. Luncheon will be in the conference room on the ground level Parking is available on the East & North side of the building.  If entering from North, conference room is visible upon entrance. If entering from the East, please take the elevator to the ground floor conference room. There is no charge to attend and guests are welcome, but please RSVP.
