With a well-earned reputation as the most prosperous sector of Oklahoma City, Northwest Oklahoma City incorporates more than 55 square miles that includes numerous recreational, shopping, and business areas.
Recreational areas around Lake Hefner, Lake Overhoser and the Martin Nature Center, as well as major commercial development along NW Expressway and the Memorial Road Corridor have made Northwest Oklahoma City a preferred destination for visitors and residents alike. The area features many of the metro’s finest hotels and dining establishments and unique one-of-a-kind shopping.
Growth continues in this area. Construction is under way for a new regional library. Oklahoma’s only outlet shopping center has recently opened, and many new home developments emerge to accommodate on increasing population.
At the same time, area business owners are working together to revitalize local neighborhoods and bring in new businesses in places where investment has slowed. The Windsor Area and Friends of NW 10th Street are primary examples.
